WHILE Instructions

Summary: In this whitepaper we discuss different uses of the powerful WHILE instruction in HotDocs scripts.  After some general comments about when and how to use WHILE instuctions, we look at four example scripts:

  1. Repeated processing inside a dialog script (where you cannot use a REPEAT instruction).
  2. Processing information contained in a repeating dialog inside a block of repeating text associated with a different repeating dialog, but the repeating dialog is not nested inside the repeat that controls the block of text.
  3. Merging information from more than one repeat into a single repeat.
  4. Repeated processing of data that is not captured in a repeat.
